Be Thankful

Hello All,

Today I decided to create a card out of my box of partially completed things. It was very simple, and always fun to use the double stamping technique. I also used the tag punches to make the turkey.

I can't remember all of the colors used , but I do know the stamp sets. Have Fun!

Spinner Card Tutorial

Good Afternoon! What a beautiful, chilly day it is!
Pull out your stamping supplies and make this fun spinner card. Or come and see me at the cabin and make it with my supplies.
Here are the supplies I used for this project (All Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted)

- Bashful Blue cardstock  5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
– Marina Mist cardstock  5 1/4" x 4
- Versa Mark ink (Pen and Ink Pad)

-Whisper White Craft ink
- Marina Mist ink pad
- Rose Red Marker
- Basic Black Marker
-White Embossing powder
- Clear embossing powder
- Dimensionals
- Mounting Tape (non-SU)
- 2 pennies
-Mica Flakes
- Word Window punch
- Stamps: Four the Holidays; Wonderful Winterland
Step #1 - Taking the Marina Mist (smaller piece of card stock) use a pencil to make a mark 3/4"  in from each side about 1 1/2" from the top.

Step #2 - Using the Word Window punch line up the dot with the curve of the word window and punch out each edge and then just punch out the center. *TIP: I punched out as far as the reach was from the edge of the paper rather than trying to measure that distance.  You will also want to decorate the front of this cardstock now before you attach the "spin" of your card or mounting tape.

Step #3 - Create whatever you would like to be your "spin" on your card I used the Wonderful Winterland stamp set  for this and stamped the greeting from the Four the Holidays set.

Step #4 – Using a couple of glue dots secure a penny to the center of the back of the image you want to spin and set it aside.

Step #5 – Place a second penny underneath the Word Window slide and place a dimensional on top of it....next you will adhere it to the first.  Congratulations...you just made your card an official SPINNER :)

Step #6 - Take the mounting tape and cut two pieces, each about 4" long.  One is for the top and one is for the bottom. Make sure your top one will clear the penny spinning or else your card won't spin.

Now just mount this to your card front and you're done!

These are a lot of fun to make and to give, too.  Thanks for stopping by !!!

Stampin' Trimmer

Stampin' Trimmer
Watch a tutorial here

Introducing the new and improved Stampin' Trimmer! (order it online) Although paper trimmers are a common crafting tool, this trimmer was designed exclusively by paper crafters for paper crafters-and because it was made by Stampin' Up!, you know it's a cut above the rest!
Features of the All-New Stampin' Trimmer
  • An extra-wide 6-1/4" cutting base and an extended 14-1/2"
    ruler
    • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 1/4"
(4 mm) increments, allowing for small measurements.
    • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
    • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
    • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
    • The cutting base and track include a full ruler, incorporating measurements down to 1/16" and grid lines that mark each quarter inch.
    • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.
    • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin' Trimmer securely in place on your work area.
  • A full 12" cutting and scoring track
    • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not using them.
    • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 12" (30.5 cm) without having to remove or switch out handles.
    • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
    • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.
  • Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight
    cuts
    • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
    • Handles come in two colors: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
    • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.
    • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.
  • Storage compartment under base
    • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades, and even business cards.
    • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored.
  • Product details: item 126889; $29.95 ORDER IT IN MY ONLINE STORE TODAY!
Remember how frustrating it was to try and cut regular-sized cards on the old paper trimmer? With the new trimmer, the base has been extended so you can make most of your common cuts and measurements without even extending the ruler!
So many features of this tool make it the best on the market. The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.  The handle shows you exactly where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin and end. And, with the specially-designed insertion point, the handles snap into the track easily without bending or bowing the track itself-which helps to keep the track straight and rigid.
Have you ever thought you were getting a straight cut, but it turned out to be bowed? The new handles and cutting track are so stable, your cuts will be perfectly straight!
This tool is all about ease-the cutting track is longer than 12" making it so easy to cut or score a full sheet of cardstock without having to remove any of the blades!

New meetup group and scheduled event

I have created a new group on Meetup.com
We will be meeting tomorrow night and making (4) projects. A beautiful holiday ornament, (one version shown here) and four cards with envelopes.
You will learn new techniques, and have a lot of fun, too. It doesn't matter how experienced you are, there will be as much or as little instruction as you need.
The cost is just $20.00 per person.
